If it is true that the plane was taken to FL450 then surely the one obvious reason we can think off is to disable all pax and cabin crew at once. what is disturbing me that this is a recipe which can be reproduced at anytime, with any airliner because all 'ingredients' are still there; it only takes a dedicated crew...

Yes, that is very disturbing when you think about it.

Only deviation to that plan is the crew (whoever it was at the time of loss) was prepared to decompress the cabin but kept their own oxygen supply.

On the ground. The TCAS would be going off every second with traffic alerts.

Stealth technology is supposed to remove the primary radar echo, not the secondary surveillance radar response a transponder gives to a radar interrogation.

So why didn't primary radar pick up MH370? Whatever direction it went it would have passed over controlled (military) airspace, but none of them picked it up. Or maybe they were tracking the plane, but don't want to tell us about it...o_O

Switching them off makes the plane invisible to civilian secondary radar. It is still visible to military radar and to civilian radar equipped with primary detection capability. Secondary radar only reads transponders, and is much cheaper to operate. Primary radar shows everything that bounces enough radar waves.

Actually, Malaysian military picked up the primary target. The subject for many days was about why Malaysia didn't act sooner to this information starting with the 4 men assigned by the Malaysian Air Force to watch for such unidentified intrusions.

Military radar must be really useful then, especially when it takes a week to notify anyone about it, much less scramble jets. I remember a few of the earlier news articles did mention radar blips somewhere, but there was nothing specific, and Malaysia still launched a massive search effort in the wrong area...

And Malaysia's neighbors are pissed about searching for nothing.
