BA, which employs around 16,000 cabin crew, said in a statement: “We have been informed tonight by Unite that it has called strike action by mixed fleet cabin crew on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Although my political thinking tends towards socialism/unionism, I feel that it's a sad day when mngt can't find solutions to a dispute. What do we have? Potential customers are "being caught with the noose around their necks". Long-awaited trips are left "hanging in the air"(sic), family reunions are cancelled, and chaos created. LH have recently lost millions due to their VC members, whilst the company can still carry on buying airlines(AB is soon ending there too) faster than I buy cars...
Talk about "Both sides of the story"! Aka as an excellent & famous album by Phil Collins:D:D:D...

Well, so far socialism hasn't worked out well anywhere that I've seen lately(Venezuela comes to mind for one and Canada's Turdbleau is about to get lynched too). A lot of Unions are outdated, outgrown their usefulness but for a very few and biting the very hands that feed them. They don't garner any sympathy from customers pulling crap like this. Phil Collins is one of my favorite musicians/performers though and I'm sure he can afford to fly in his own Jet or Jet suite, etc, and for good reason.
