A Horizon Air plane en route to Boise Airport yesterday morning returned to San Jose International due to a suspected engine fire.
‘Alaska Airlines spokesperson Bobbie Egan said ground crews discovered evidence of a fire in the right engine.
FAA Public Affairs Manager Ian Gregor said the flight had left for San Jose for Boise at 11:09 a.m. and immediately ran into trouble.
Gregor said the crew reported a fire indication light had come on showing a problem with the right engine. Emergency crews were scrambled at the airport, but the plane was able to make a safe landing and rolled to a stop on one of the facility’s runways at 11:30 a.m.’
There were 48 passengers aboard. No one was injured.
The aircraft was a de Havilland Dash-8-400.
