To promote the upcoming film ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’, Air New Zealand unveiled its custom liveried ‘Hobbit’ Boeing 777-300ER.

It is the largest graphic ever applied to an aircraft and took 6 days and 400 man-hours to complete.

The jet will depart for London via Los Angeles returning to New Zealand in time to play a starring role in the global premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in Wellington on Wednesday November 28th.

Does anyone know how much it costs to paint a B777? I know this one is a promo for the movie, but i think AZ’s black zebra paint job is the best around. Used to like Americans aluminum non-paint silver but this will change when they go to the composite finish.
