Hurricane Sandy Damage in New Jersey

American Airlines and American Eagle are partnering with the American Red Cross to aid people affected by Hurricane Sandy, which recently struck the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the United States with heavy rains, damaging winds and extensive flooding, and leaving millions without electricity and destroying many homes. Members of the American Airlines AAdvantage® program can support relief efforts by donating to the American Red Cross to help provide victims with shelter, food and other assistance.

Through Nov. 30, 2012, AAdvantage members will earn a one-time award of 250 AAdvantage miles for a minimum donation of $50, or 500 AAdvantage miles for a donation of $100 or more to American Red Cross Disaster Relief.

“With the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Sandy, help is urgently needed,” said Bernie Willett, American’s Director – Community Programs. “We invite our customers to join us in supporting the American Red Cross to provide much-needed assistance to the victims of this superstorm.”

Numerous trained Red Cross disaster workers have mobilized to distribute meals and relief supplies to those affected by Hurricane Sandy. By donating to American Red Cross Disaster Relief, American Airlines customers can support people who have been stricken by the storm as they begin to recover and rebuild.
