Delta Air Lines will increase its presence at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris next summer with new year-round and seasonal service from 11 destinations in the United States. With its expanded service, Delta will offer flights between Paris and its hubs at New York-JFK, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Detroit and Cincinnati, as well as key business markets in Newark, Boston, Seattle, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. All flights will be operated in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Air France.

Delta’s expanded and enhanced Paris service includes:

  • New nonstop service from Newark’s Liberty International Airport, complementing Delta and Air France’s existing service from JFK and Delta’s existing service to Amsterdam.
  • New summer seasonal service from Boston’s Logan International Airport, complementing the pair of existing Air France flights.
  • An additional flight from Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, increasing the total number of daily flights between Atlanta and Paris on the joint venture carriers to four.
  • Upgauged and expanded service between Detroit’s Metro Airport, from seasonal 767-300 service to year-round A330-300 service.

“These service enhancements will bolster our presence in the Paris hub while strengthening our industry-leading joint venture with Air France-KLM,” said Glen Hauenstein, Delta’s executive vice president – Network Planning, Revenue Management and Marketing. “This expansion will have little effect on overall trans-Atlantic capacity discipline as Delta continues to reallocate seats into high-demand business travel markets.”

As Delta continues to build its trans-Atlantic service at European hubs it will also add an additional seasonal flight between JFK and Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, resulting in a combined four daily summer flights between both Delta and joint venture partner KLM.

Beginning in 2013, the new Paris to Newark flight as well as our existing flights from Paris to Cincinnati, New York-JFK, and Seattle will feature full-flat bed seats in BusinessElite, offering each customer direct aisle access. Delta flights also feature Economy Comfort, Delta’s premium economy product, offering four inches additional legroom and 50% additional recline. Delta recently announced it will begin offering in-flight internet service on its long-haul international fleet in early 2013.

“Strengthening our network while improving our customer experience both at the airport and on board is key to our strategy. In our Paris hub, Air France and Delta customers will enjoy shorter transitions between the gates and concourses as we consolidate our airport operations,” said Bruno Matheu, Executive Vice President Marketing, Revenue Management and Network Air France-KLM and Chief Commercial Officer Air France.

Effective this month, Air France operations will be concentrated in Terminals 2E, 2F and 2G.

Connections at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Europe’s leading connecting hub, will be shorter and faster for passengers on Delta flights arriving at Terminal 2E and travelling to a European destination.
