A 55 year-old man who was found dead on the side of a Los Angeles area freeway Tuesday evening has been indentified as a pilot for Alaska Airlines.

The Los Angeles Times reports:

‘A passerby spotted the body along a fence at the Scott Road off-ramp about 6 p.m. Tuesday and called authorities, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the man dead.

He was identified as Clifford Morris of Richland, Wash., Ryburn said.

Sources confirmed Morris was an Alaska Airlines pilot who was in town on business. He had been staying at a local hotel.’

An autopsy will be completed by Thursday but in the meantime police do not know how he died. There were no signs of injury and his wallet and ID where still with him. They don’t believe robbery was a motive.
