    Hi All

The FAA has recently approved a garbage transfer station at LGA. It is a poor decision that is purely political.

So here we have another aircraft situation and soon this facility will open 2000 feet from LGA’s main runway!

    Amazing, isn’t it!

    WHAT ARE THEY THINKING……..!

How many people have to die, and how much money needs to be spent on damages caused by bird strikes. The tree-huggers will have to soon be told to take a hike. There comes a time when we HAVE to remove the bird dangers from the World’s Airports. Here in the Philippines they have bird strikes nearly every week. I saw 3 bird strikes in just 3 hours last year. Thank GOD they were all on landings. The birds and other animals HAVE to be removed from the areas around airports!

believe me i understand your frustration. However it isn’t the birds, it is simply garbage that attracts the wild life.

As a pilot i have flown over an garbage dump that was in the traffic pattern at Republic Airport KFRG. Imagine garbage, which is a food supply for birds 1000 feet from aircraft using this airport. I have hit a few of these birds while flying because of this.

It is the individuals that allow garbage facilities near or in airport property that are the problem.
