Two Turkish Jets Clip Wings at Hamburg Causing Damage
A Turkish Airlines Airbus A321 jet struck the wingtip of a Sun Express Boeing 737 while parking at the terminal at Hamburg Airport on Monday.
The Turkish A321 (Flight 1663) was parking in its final position at its gate while the Sun Express (Flight 915) plane was already parked at an adjacent gate. Reports suggest the Turkish plane possibly missed its markings.
There were 185 and 167 passengers on the Turkish and Sun aircraft respectively. There were no injuries reported.
Wingtips on both planes were damaged and had to be taken out of service for repairs.
