The lead singer of the American rock band Puddle of Mudd was arrested in Texas after becoming unruly on a JetBlue flight from Boston to Los Angeles (LAX) on Tuesday.
Wes Scantlin was arrested in Austin, Texas after he allegedly became intoxicated and got in to a confrontation with a flight attendant.
“The flight was diverted to Austin due to Wes Scantlin, lead singer of Puddle of Mudd,” authorities said.
“Once the plane landed the officers did their investigation and deemed that the individual was intoxicated and was placed under arrest for public intoxication.”
According to Austin PD, officers later tacked on an additional charge of interference with a flight crew, which investigators with the Transportation Security Agency plan to follow up on.
Scantlin was immediately transported and booked into Travis County Jail, where he remains behind bars.
There is no further word as Scantlin’s attorney has not offered any statement at this time.
