Allegiant Air Jet Struck by Lightning, Flight Attendant Also Hurt
An Allegiant Air flight was struck by lightning last Thursday as it approached its landing at Blue Grass Airport (LEX) in Lexington, Kentucky.
“The flight coming into Lexington, it was flying through some bad weather, hit some pretty bad turbulence and then was struck by lightning,” says Jessica Wheeler, spokesperson for Allegiant Travel.
The MD-80 series aircraft landed safely.
A flight attendant was hurt, however. Reports say the attendant was standing in the aisle when turbulence hit and had to seek medical attention.
There were no other injuries.
The aircraft was taken out of service so it could be inspected. The flight number was not provided.

Sounds like the flight from Hell! I’m glad i wasn’t on it…
Blue Grass Airport code is LEX. And Lexington Creech AAF code is LSD, a military base. Just a heads up.
Thanks Robert for spotting that. :)
