Kingfisher Airlines had to cancel 26 flights on Wednesday as a portion of its pilots as well as engineers did not show up for work in protest of not receiving their salary payments.

“The protest was over the delay in payment of salaries for the month of March,” said an airline source. “By evening, some pilots were of the opinion that they should continue flying till August 13, as the management promised them on Wednesday that salary disbursement for March will begin on that date,” he added.

Kingfisher pilots are not unionized, so they plan strikes and other solidarity actions by consulting with one another.

This is the fourth time since February Kingfisher’s pilots have walked off the job for not getting their pay.

Kingfisher Airlines is barely struggling to stay afloat while operating less than 25 percent of its flights.

Seriously!!?? If this airline were in the US, they’d be shut down immediately. How can they recover from this? There are going to be so many lawsuits.. AA must be reading this and having a good chuckle! LOL

  2. Phil says:

Well gee guys, I wonder why the Hell the pilots are walking off the job. Still waiting for a paycheck for four months?! Where the Hell is the government to step in and knock this nonsense off?

  3. Kenneth Holland says:

It’s pretty ridiculous that this airline is still in business. I’m not sure why the Indian regulators are letting them do this. Mallya must have really greased some politicians over there.
