American Airlines Boeing 757

An American Airlines plane en route to Boston from London Heathrow Friday diverted to Dublin Airport due to hydraulic problems.

American Flight 155, a Boeing 757-200 aircraft, developed a problem with its nose wheel steering and requested am emergency landing at Dublin.

Fire crews were scrambled to the runway but the 757 made a safe landing after burning off fuel before beforehand.

There were 172 passengers on board but no one was hurt.

    It would be interesting to know if the Hyd problem related to loss of fluid or an indication malfunction, also what remedy action was taken to rectify the problem.

      I have a friend who was a 757 mechanic (mostly) for AA and he said those birds have had a lot of hydraulic bugs ever since the jet came out. One of the reasons they stopped production and are replacing it with the longer 737s.

    The nose wheel steering has NO indication. the only indication of the nose gear is the retract system. down and locked, up and locked and in transit.
    Looks like more botched reporting.
