Aurora Colorado Shooting

United Airlines is offering free flights to the families of the Aurora Shooting in Colorado so they can travel to be with loved ones and attend funerals.

United Airlines gave only a brief statement on the gesture:

“All of us were impacted by these events, and we want to help in any way we can.”

‘The airline helped the family of Andrew Sullivan in a big way: They offered to fly 25 family members from he Rochester, N.Y., area to Denver to attend Andrew’s funeral this week. Andrew Sullivan died in the shooting at the Aurora movie theater on his 27th birthday.

A family member told ABC News affiliate WHAM once the family found out Andrew had been killed, they started making plans for some of the family to fly to Colorado right away. When the United Airlines ticket agent found out why they were going, the airline offered to help.’

James Holmes, 24, is suspected of killing 12 and injuring 58 others during a shooting rampage at a screening of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ in the Colorado cinema.

    Classy move United. :)

      Agreed! Very nice gesture indeed.

In contrast to this incident, there was a man who lost his parents in the crash of American 1, and then lost his brother on American 191. When he called American to purchase a ticket to go see his brother’s remains after AA191 the airline told him he’d have to buy a ticket… Can you believe that??

I can only imagine the pain the families of those involved in this incident must feel. :( Good job United for making a difference in any way they can.

That is a wonderful act of support to the families that lost loved ones. All the airlines should follow this example. One of the things that makes this country great, is during tragedy, the country unites in support. Go Bless all those that died, the injured and the families that endured this act.
