Before they are arrive at the FAL, the aircraft sections are equipped and pre-assembled at Airbus sites in the United Kingdom, Spain, France and Germany.

All these major sections are transported to the FAL by the Beluga aircraft.

  1. Chris says:

Is this thing composite or aluminum??

  2. Kenneth Holland says:

    I believe it’s composite.

    • Chris says:

Wow! Apparently the skin and frame structure are indeed composite… 53% of the plane is composite whereas only 50% in the 787.

  3. JamesMX says:

So when you say ‘composite’ is carbon fiber??

    • Chris says:

Yes indeed, James! The same stuff they used on the 787.

The A350 is also making use of titanium for some of it’s parts… These manufactures are doing whatever they can to save weight.

  4. Tarun says:

It’s less weighing mean less fuel consuming and more eccofriendly.
