Food Cart on Frontier Airlines Flight Injures 5, 3 Hospitalized

5 people were reportedly injured and 3 of them hospitalized when a food cart came loose on a Frontier Airlines flight during landing at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) on Wednesday.

Frontier Flight 1863, operated as Republic Airways, was just about to land when the incident occurred.

The injuries are not reported to be serious, and Frontier is investigating how the cart came loose.

    I wonder if the airline has the plane configured so there’s a spot for the carts when not in use. I know with the new Delta MD88 configurations, there’s no place to put them! They actually removed the rear galley in favor of 6 more seats…

      Checking on this Chris I think this flight was an Embraer 190. Don’t know how that’s configured.

        Ahh good info. Looking at boarding videos on youtube of the Frontier ERJ190, it appears there’s a spot for 2 carts in the front of the plane adjacent to the cockpit door. They mustn’t have been secured in properly, and probably rolled out and down the aisle when the plane was landing… I can imagine a few people’s arms hurting!
