UPDATE 4 – July 14, 2012 – 12:21 AM EDT:

Police have now said there was no bomb or explosives found on board the airplane. It’s also been reported that a woman was complaining of being sick, and investigators believed she may have been faking it to cause a distraction and to get the plane to return to New York.

  2. HenHouse says:

One New York station just reported it may be a live bomb. :(

  3. Kenneth Holland says:

    That’s correct James.

  4. JamesMX says:

I’m hearing it’s a false alarm. Someone was sick on board. So how did it turn into a bomb scare???

  5. Kenneth Holland says:

Reuters says (above) 2 people have been detained.

  6. Kenneth Holland says:

The authorities are being pretty hush hush about this. Could very well have been a bomb plot.

  7. Diego says:

My sister is on this plane PLEASE tell me where you’re getting the information from. I’m calling Delta and they won’t tell me anything

    • Kenneth Holland says:

Diego, We are talking to Delta and some of our news sources. All the passengers were evacuated from the aircraft and there are NO reports of any injuries so I am sure your sister is fine.

They found no traces of any bomb.

Are you able to reach her by phone?

  8. Diego says:

Thank you so much for the information. No, for some reason her phone is off we don’t know why. We’re trying to get someone to help us get in touch with her but no one will help us!

  9. Diego says:

The police is helping my mom get in touch with her I’ll let you know thank you so much for your help!

    • Kenneth Holland says:

I bet the authorities are holding everyone so they can screen them. That is typically what they do in cases like this. It’s for the passengers safety.

I understand your worry but she will be fine :)

      • Diego says:

Thank you so much. We live hours away from the airport that’s why we’re so worried and we don’t know what to do. But thank you so much for the information.

        • Kenneth Holland says:

You’re welcome Diego. Keep in mind it could take awhile before you reach her. They have to screen 200 people.

If there’s anything you need just reach out to us.

  10. Kenneth Holland says:

You’re welcome Diego. Glad everything is ok. :)

Wow!! I can’t wait to get the final details of this incident. I’m going to guess the two detainees will be going away for a while…

    • Kenneth Holland says:

I can’t get any info out of Delta (as usual). But the whole thing is suspicious. I’ve been told there was ‘more’ than just some wire in that lavatory.

      • Chris says:

Really!? Do you think they were actually “terrorists”?? It will be interesting to see how they smuggled these materials on board, and how these two people were interrupted.

        • Kenneth Holland says:

Hard to say. But let’s put it this way: Delta hasn’t always told me the complete truth on stories before. The whole story here doesn’t add up. First a woman was sick, then she wasn’t…then she was and was a decoy. Now, there’s no woman at all. They found ‘a wire’ in the bathroom. No there’s no wire.

          What would you think?
