TSA Precheck

TSA announced Wednesday that TSA PreCheck will expand to include United Airlines at Chicago O’Hare International and US Airways at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

PreCheck is a pre-screening initiative that allows eligible passengers to volunteer information about themselves to expedite their screening process. Eligible passengers may be referred to the PreCheck lane where they will undergo expedited screening, which could include being able to leave their shoes, light outerwear and belts on, allowing them to keep their laptops in their cases and 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bags in their carry-on.

More than 1.5 million passengers have received expedited screening through PreCheck security lanes since the initiative began in October 2011.

The program currently is available in 16 airports for U.S. citizens who are select frequent flyers of participating airlines or members of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Trusted Traveler programs and traveling within the U.S.
