A SpiceJet flight preparing for takeoff at Ahmedabad was delayed on Sunday when a man who was not allowed to board phoned in a bomb hoax from the airport.

29 year-old Ravindra Khanna was arrested by Delhi police after he admitted that he made a call from an airport phone saying he heard there might be a bomb aboard the flight.

The SpiceJet plane was taken in to isolation after the call and the passengers offloaded so the aircraft could be inspected. Nothing was found.

The plane was reboarded and allowed to take off after the delay.

Apparently! It’s scary that these things can happen and pretty much ruin the days of the other passengers. I wonder why they denied him boarding in the first place- it appears the crews made the right choice as he’s clearly disturbed!

It was happened in New Delhi airport, not in Ahmedabad. But that schedule of that flight is New Delhi to Ahmedabad. Because of that fake call, the aircraft was brought to Isolation bay by defence people… :)
