AirTran Flight Diverted to Jacksonville Due to Intoxicated Passenger
An AirTran flight bound for Orlando (MCO) on Friday night was diverted to Jacksonville Airport (JAX) when a male passenger locked himself in the bathroom and refused to come out.
AirTran Flight 1879 departed Atlanta International (ATL) at 9:15PM and shortly in to the flight when the incident occurred.
A passenger on the Boeing 737-700, Chris Austin, said a flight attendant told passengers the man had made a threat. Austin, human-resources manager at the Orlando Sentinel, said law officers removed the man and several people who were sitting near him toward the rear of the plane, apparently for questioning.
A witness claimed the unruly passenger said “the plane was going to blow.”
Bomb sniffing dogs were brought on board to inspect the plane and all the passengers were allowed to disembark.
The man was taken in to custody by authorities.
There were no reported injuries.

Lock ‘em up!
No fly list baby! You’d see a lot less of this…
Ken, do they have a real “no fly” list? They’ve gotta have one for terrorists! They really should put “first time” offenders like the one in this article on such a list, or at least probation. Disrupting a flight is a criminal offense- they should all be prosecuted!
I know the Department of Homeland Security has one for terrorists like you said but as far as I know they do not have one for people who pull this crap.
It blows me away that jerks like this are usually never prosecuted.
Like you said…they should all be prosecuted and at least be put on a probation list.
