Delta and American Airlines Jets in Near Collision at Boston Logan [VIDEO]

A Delta Airlines Airbus A319 (pictured) came very close to slamming in to an American Airlines jet at Boston Logan Airport
A Delta Airlines jet and an American Airlines jet were involved in a near collision at Boston Logan Airport Thursday afternoon.
Delta Airlines Flight 1386, an Airbus A319, was very near touchdown on runway 4R when air traffic controllers (ATC) quickly radioed for them to ‘go around’, or abort the landing.
The reason? American Airlines Flight 349, a Boeing 737, taxied across the same runway without permission from ATC causing the last second abort of the Delta aircraft.
One of the passengers aboard the Delta flight said she asked the pilots just how close they came to the other plane and according to her the reply was “300 feet”.
The FAA is launching a full probe in to the incident.
Delta Airlines Flight 1386 was inbound from New York’s LaGuardia Airport and American Flight 349 was bound for Dallas Ft. Worth (DFW).

So I wonder if the ’300 feet’ mention meant 300 feet from landing or 300 feet from the other airplane. Because I’ll tell you…300 feet from the other plane is very concerning.
It sounded like the AA pilot just ignored the atc and went across…but that audio could have been edited.
Yeahh, 300ft from the plane is a scary prospect. Imagine had this been at night and if the controller didn’t notice? But then again, what plane lands right at the foot of the runway…
Did the AA plane actually cross, or did it stop at the last second?
That’s my question too… Something tells me those planes were never in any danger, but that the AA jet simply “went past the stop sign” a few feet…
Not confirmed, but I’m told the AA plane DID cross and that it was a VERY close call. I’m working to find this out.
