A hijack threat that ultimately turned out to be a hoax forced a PIA flight to land in Karachi, Pakistan today.

A passenger was reportedly was arguing with a flight attendant on PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) flight 586 from Karachi to Bahawalpur when the man then threatened that he could hijack the plane.

When the pilot was notified of the comments he turned the ATR-42 and returned to Karachi as a precaution not knowing the passenger’s true intentions.

Reports say he was ‘joking’ in regards to his threats.

The offending passenger was taken in to custody by security once the plane was on the ground.

No one was injured.

It is not known if the man will be charged.

Numbskull. I’m sure he realizes now that you don’t joke about stuff like this on an airliner.
