A man has died this morning on a Delta Airlines flight from Centrair Airport in Nagoya, Japan (JGG) to Honolulu, Hawaii:

‘Delta spokeswoman Gina Laughlin says Flight 612 from Nagoya was about two hours from Honolulu when the man began experiencing some kind of medical emergency. She says flight attendants and nurses performed CPR but the passenger was unresponsive.’

Medical response teams were on hand as soon as the Boeing 767 landed in Honolulu to treat the man and was taken to the hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

The man’s identity has not been released yet.

Delta said that the flight did not divert to a different airport since Honolulu was still the shortest and best option.
