United Airlines has confirmed that it is seeking unspecified compensation from Boeing for delays on the maker’s newest aircraft, the 787 Dreamliner:

‘The world’s largest airline by traffic said it is in talks with the plane maker “over potential compensation,” but isn’t able to estimate “the ultimate success, amount of, nature or timing of any potential recoveries from Boeing” over the delays.’

The 787 has been delayed for over three years due to production problems, the latest of which occurred just recently with fuselage manufacturing issues.

United has ordered 50 787s ans was originally expecting delivery of six this year although now they are expecting five.

Air India has also asked for $1 Billion dollars in refunds from Boeing for delays of the 787 as well.
