Tupolev Crash Kyrgyzstan

Wreckage of Tupolev Tu-134 that crashed in Kyrgyzstan

A Tupolev Tu-134 crashed in the independent Turkic state of Kyrgyzstan at the airport of the city of Osh. 31 people have reportedly been injured.

Reports say the airliner made a rough landing in heavy fog, then proceeded to run off the runway where a wing broke off and the aircraft rolled over.

There were apparently 95 on board the state airline Kyrgyzstan.

The Tupolev Tu-134 has been the workhorse of Soviet passenger aviation for decades but have been plagued by terrible safety statistics, most likely due to aging aircraft and sub-standard maintenance.

Kyrgyzstan is located in central Asia essentially within Russia.

It will be interesting to find the reason the plane went off the runway. Rolled over? Rather unusual!

Hearing that there are some critical injuries but it’s always hard to get straight info from Russia. Will try to confirm.

@MichavonErkner On top of that, their maintenance is terrible. It makes for a really bad combination. Not sure is this was mechanically related, but it was bad weather apparently. They also have alot of bad pilots I’m told. Nice combo.
